I got this as party favor at a baby shower - it came from a dollar store. I wouldn't pay more than a few bucks for it (actually, I wouldn't pay more than $1 for it!). It works OKAY, but it doesn't illuminate a very broad area; instead it shines very intensely on a 3 inch (or so) spot and it's almost too dark to read around the periphery. No amount of adjusting the light effectively illuminates the entirety of the two pages that are being read (mind you, if you had a really tiny book it might work well...) It also tends to shine in your face a fair amount as there's no shroud directing the light towards the book and the casing around the LED is a translucent yellow plastic.
Overall, it's better than nothing, but the low quality of this light has me shopping for a better alternative.
